Dr Yue Weng Cheu
Dr. Yue is a general dentist with a BDS degree from the National University of Singapore and is a recipient of The Pierre Fauchard Academy Foundation Annual Scholarship Award. He holds fellowships from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons, England.He has special interests in Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD) management, Dr. Yue completed a mini-residency in Dental Sleep Medicine at TUFTS University, USA. He innovated the concept of Linguadontics, linking tongue health to overall well-being.Dr. Yue delivered a TEDxSingapore talk in 2017 and lectures internationally. He teaches at the MSc Laser Dentistry Programme at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart, Rome, and holds a Mastership status in Laser Dentistry from WCLI. He is also a member of the ALIGN APAC teaching faculty.Dr. Yue serves on the Advisory Board for Nanyang Polytechnic's School of Oral Health Therapist (2021-2023) and is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Orofacial Myology and Myofunctional Therapy.As Clinical Director of DP Dental, with locations in Kovan, Orchard, and Katong, he employs advanced dental technologies like Laser, CAD-CAM, 3D jaw tracking, and Invisalign, integrated with myofunctional training and Oral Sleep Appliances to deliver comprehensive care.
Dr Nada Makki-Karnib
Dr Nada Makki-Karnib is the founder and principal speech pathologist at Q Speech Hub, a private practice dedicated to treating infants, children and adults with speech, feeding and language difficulties. With over 20 years of combined experience as a hospital biomedical scientist and speech pathologist, she spends much of her professional time on learning, treating and teaching about the underlying cause of oral dysfunction. Nada’s special interest in Oromyofunctional Disorders has led to her involvement in research, with her current doctorate exploring the effectiveness of oromyofunctional therapy on treating lisps in school-aged children. Nada has spoken nationally and internationally on topics relating to tethered oral tissues, sleep, dentofacial development and early orthopaedic intervention with oromyofunctional therapy.
A/Professor Angus Cameron
Angus Cameron is a specialist paediatric dentist practicing in Sydney. He worked at Westmead Hospital in Sydney for over 30 years, heading the Department of Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics for over 18 years. Angus is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney and holds teaching appointments at the University of Newcastle and Charles Sturt University. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the International College of Dentists. Angus has lectured extensively throughout Australia and internationally and is the co-editor of the leading textbook, the Handbook of Pediatric Dentistry recently published in its 5th edition and translated into 7 languages.Now, predominately in private practice, he consults in Sydney’s northern beaches, and on the central coast of NSW. In 1999, he initiated the Tongue Tie Clinic at Westmead Hospital and has run a specialist referral clinic for mothers and babies with feeding issues in Sydney for that last 10 years.
Robyn Merkel-Walsh (Virtual)
Robyn Merkel-Walsh, MA, CCC-SLP, COM®️ is a Licensed Speech Pathologist and Board Certified Orofacial Myologist® with nearly 3 decades of experience in the state of NJ. She is employed full time by the Ridgefield Board of Education and is the owner of Diamond Myo and Mouths In Motion Mentoring Service. Robyn is a lecturer and author for TalkTools® and has authored texts and published in peer review journals . Her specializations include Tethered Oral Tissues, Orofacial Myology and feeding disorders. She has been elected NJ Kids Top Doctors in 2012, 2013, 2014 2018 and 1023z She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Montclair State University, where she was later invited to be an adjunct/clinical supervisor. Robyn has also taught classes at Bergen Community College and is a former clinical site coordinator for Seton Hall University. She is the Board Chair of the Oral Motor Institute and a Board Member of the International Consortium of Oral Ankylofrenula Professionals . She is the proud recipient of multiple ASHA ACE Award and the Ridgefield Woman of the Year 2019 in Business. Robyn also is an Ambassador of The Breathe Institute where she serves as a guest faculty member.
Dr Raymond J. Tseng
Raymond J. Dr. Tseng was a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded trainee throughout his professional training, and completed his DDS and PhD at The Ohio State University (USA), and post-doctoral research fellowship and pediatric specialty training at the University of North Carolina (USA). Dr. Tseng has actively engaged in clinical research and practice focused on tethered oral tissues (TOTs) for 6 years, and is passionate about collaborating with other clinician-scientists to further develop a scientifically sound evidence base to guide TOTs-focused clinical practices. Dr. Tseng is on the board of directors for the International Consortium for Ankylofrenulae Professionals (ICAP), and chairs ICAP’s scientific affairs committee. He holds adjunct faculty/adviser positions at the University of North Carolina (USA), and Curtin University (Perth, WA).
Sarah Oakley
Sarah is a Registered Nurse, Health Visitor, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Tongue-tie Practitioner with a busy private practice based in Cambridgeshire, UK. Sarah is a founder member and former Chair of The Association of Tongue-tie Practitioners and has written a book for parents and professionals, ‘Why Tongue-tie Matters’. She has also contributed to other books on breastfeeding. She lectures on infant feeding and tongue-tie nationally and internationally and provides study days for a number of NHS Trusts. She offers an Online Course on tongue-tie and infant feeding which is suitable for all newborn care specialists.
Emma Park
Emma Park BHSc is an industry leader in the field of Gut Health and the microbiome in the first 1,000 days. An ardent and engaging educator with a focus on empowering health professionals in their care of mums and babies, Emma has over a decade of hands-on clinical experience and an extensive understanding of cutting-edge microbiome science and its clinical applications.In her years as clinical educator for the Australian owned Puremedic Health (Qiara Probiotics) she has educated thousands of maternity care health professionals, increasing their knowledge on the microbiome and probiotics in the first 1000 days, and improving outcomes for mothers and babies.
Dr Lauren Boundy
Dr Lauren Boundy has worked in Victoria as an Osteopath since 2000 and currently operates Osteopathy Connections, a private practice across four locations with a team of 8 Osteopaths.Lauren has incorporated her knowledge and skills as a breastfeeding counsellor (2009) and in orofacial myology (2018) to grow her clinic with a focus on supporting families toward better health outcomes via tongue and lip tie support; breastfeeding mechanical support; pre and post-natal care for mums; and craniofacial and orofacial myofunctional approaches across the lifespan. Lauren has delivered education seminars for Osteopaths on “Tongue & Lip tie support for breastfeeding infants”; and “Paediatric Orofacial Myology Concepts for Osteopaths”. Lauren has also shared her osteopathic insights at Dental and Speech pathology conferences, and is a firm believer in a collaborative health approach. Her own health journey and that of her 2 children have been powerful motivators to continue to learn and share.
Dr Rebecca R. Hill
Rebecca R. Hill, PhD, DNP, FNP-C, FAAN earned her BSN from the University of Rhode Island her MSN, post-master’s certificate in nursing education, and DNP from Duke University and her PhD from Boston College. Rebecca is a family nurse practitioner and certified as a lactation counselor and nurse educator. Rebecca is the associate dean of prelicensure programs at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA, USA. Her area of research focuses on infant feeding and tethered oral tissues. Rebecca collaborates with various health profession disciplines to advance the state of the science on this under-recognized topic. She was recently awarded a grant from the Gerber Foundation to examine physiologic sucking pre- and post-frenotomy to evaluate breastfeeding mechanics in the setting of tethered oral tissues.
Dr Sarah Bombell
Sarah is a GP Obstetrician and Lactation Consultant (IBCLC 2008) who works in the field of Breastfeeding Medicine. She is the Medical director of The Mother Hub, a specialist pregnancy and breastfeeding clinic in Queanbeyan NSW. She also cares for women birthing at Queanbeyan Hospital. Sarah completed her medical degree at the Australian National University. She gained her Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and her Fellowship as a General Practitioner. More recently Sarah has become a mentor for the world's first Breastfeeding Medicine Fellowship program at the University of Rochester in the USA and hopes to bring additional educational and training opportunities to local medical professionals in the future. Sarah is passionate about providing families with evidence-based management whilst remaining mindful of the differing opinions and goals of families when it comes to infant feeding and newborn care. Sarah has a special interest in oral restrictions and management of complex breastfeeding issues.
